In the book 1984, George Orwell foretold the circumstances thatare today. And when he wrote the bookin 1949, it was believed that 35 years later his fiction would begin to makeour reality.

many politicalindividuals and social movements favor these kind of governmental practices,thus transforming the social landscape in many nations, including the UnitedStates.
Now,what I say should be taken with a grain of salt. While Orwell hatedtotalitarianism, he considered himself a socialist. And as a side note, I don’tthink that Orwell really meant to criticize socialism. I just think that’s howmost critics end up interpreting many of the point made by Orwell in 1984.
