The authors of Ambivalent Allies used the example of Sweden as being a country who managed to stay independent but I think for Canada it was a little more difficult to do this. As it stands right now I don’t see any way it would be economically possible for Canada to gain greater economic freedom from the United States without a huge blow to our economy or a trade war.
