The life of an ant in the movie Antz, is very similar to that of a Russian citizen under Stalin’s rule. Of course the economy of the ants is a command economy, and everyone has to work towards “the good of the colony”. When Stalin came to power in Russia, Lenin had already introduced communism, and he wanted to install that more securely, but communism was already present in Russia. But there are many serious issues discussed in it, and I found it a great way of showing how the “perfect” command economy works, although of course there are exceptions. Some people weren’t happy with the way things were working, just like Russians in a similar economy. These two economies have their differences, but are mostly the same. I see it as the Russian economy, aspiring to be like the Antz economy.
