Beowulf is a courageous hero who has come to a kingdom to defeat an evil, “inhuman,” monster because it is unstoppable. The story is not chronological because it starts from the middle. The story starts with Beowulf already arrived and then is told about the monster named Grendel. The only type of repetition is when Beowulf is boasting. that are pointed out in the story is the sign of Cain. Cain is known for the murder of his brother. Now Cain is the symbol for no family and evil. Grendel is the same as him. There isn’t a rhythmic scheme. Since this is a translation there isn’t that much of a stanza pattern. The poem is written in free verse. But the poet does make the poem very interesting to read.
