There are many different types of conflicts that occur in a story. In Eudora Welty’s “A Worn Path” the main character, Phoenix Jackson, experiences many different conflicts during her journey. Of the many conflicts Phoenix encounters, the ones she encounters with herself seem to be the greatest. She seems to deal well with and overcome the conflicts with nature and other people, but she cannot overcome her age or physical condition, and she cannot face the truth about her grandson.
