Like Kumalo in his journey through Johannesburg, a city where “all roads lead to” (Paton, 83), and we get the impression that none lead out of it in that one always looses pieces of himself there. A city where white is intolerant of black and black is hostile or broken. A city where kindness is not practiced enough.
