This article is written by Magaly Muguercia a Cuban journalist/artist who grew up during the Cuban revolution of 1959 and currently still works in Havana. He uniquely describes the evolution of Cuban politics (starting with Fidel Castro’s revolution and the rise of the socialist regime) by incorporating his own experiences in Cuba as well as his love of the performing arts. He goes through each decade since Fidel’s rise in 1959 to the end

It is known that most government officials have access to the capitalist world that they so desperately try to censor from Cuban civilians.
This piece was very interestingly written. It was like a dramatic piece of non-fiction. Muguercia used many metaphors to describe the political and social situation in Cuba. It was fascinating to read a personal account of the political affairs of the last four decades; it made it more real and more graspable.
