In conclusion, the prince has to do what’s best for
the people and what’s best for his reputation. He is
the ultimate authority condoning the right to do
whatever he sees fit, even if his integrity is at
stake. I think Machiavelli did an excellent job of
portraying what politics is really like rather than
what it should be.
