DOROTHY DAY Dorothy Day was born in Brooklyn, New York on November 8,1897. After the earthquake in 1906, her family moved to Chicago’s south side. Into a place not as nice as the one in New York because her father, John, was out of work. Not many people would be willing to live the life she did, as a devoted Catholic Worker. If there were more people like Dorothy Day in the world, I believe that there would not be so much hunger and pain. I hope one day she is canonized.
