to symbolize Montag’s rebirth. The water is
meant to cleanse his soul upon his realization of the truth. Bradbury cunningly begins to
incorporate water into the story more so after Montag rebels against his enemies. An
authors’ talent becomes obvious when he is able to make his writing work for him. Bradbury does just this with his use of poetic devices in the novel Fahrenheit 451 to generate the messages he wants to his readers.
