nd 1959 Fidel made his first speech to a large crowd from the same Moncada Fortress where his movement began five and a half years ago, he had finally succeeded in liberating Cuba.
On January 6th Fidel made a speech to the public about peace, and caution against accepting dictatorships, people praised him as their “Savior of the Fatherland”. After being pressured the Cuban government offered Fidel the place of Prime Minister, which Fidel accepted graciously.
