In Frankenstein, Mary Shelley tells of a man and his monster who are outcast of
society. The man, Victor Frankenstein secludes himself from society, and is filled with
hatred towards his creation While his creation, the monster, yearns for a place in society
but is rejected and is envious of what Victor has and refuses to allow him to have. Both
blame each other for their pain, but in actuality it's all Dr. Frankenstein’

man.
All this turmoil Victor puts himself leads to the conclusion that his lust for power
and knowledge ruined his life, along with the hatred and isolation he encounters
throughout his struggle. It also shows that the need for someone’s love can make you do
horrible things to get that love and the compassion you desire and deserve.
