Gatsby
In agreement with Gary J. Scrimgeour, “Gatsby is a boor, a roughneck, a fraud, a criminal.” Throughout the novel, Gatsby is portrayed as all these qualities, as well as for using others to get what he wants and for being extremely self-centered. Needless to say, these are not the best qualities to be known for and therefore, Gatsby is a low-life character that only looks to better himself and not the world around him.

Needless to say, he is by no means a role model, but rather a low-life character that only looks to better himself and not the world around him. Worst of all, he makes the American dream seem superficial and out of reach which ruins the very spirit of society.
