As long as the institution of marriage has been around there is also the belief that it is the union of one man and one woman. Nowadays, homosexuals are challenging that institution.
The main arguments against gay marriages are that marriage is traditionally a heterosexual institution and that same-sex marriage threatens the institution of marriage. There is a big contradiction here – threatening marriage by allowing people to marry !
