Edgar Allan Poe was a man with very few things headed in the right
direction in his life. His parent’s divorced when he was just three years old and
his new foster parent’s did not care for the young, helpless boy at all. These are
just a few of the drastic events that happened in Edgar Allan’s life and were the
reason he started to take a negative view on life and

walk the face of the earth and that will probably never change. His tales were
all self induced by the horror and pain that he saw in his life. He was the
epitome of the Gothic tale and turned into something alive and lasting even
though he may be criticized for his tales and his personal life E. A. Poe is one of
the greatest writers in history.
