Gatsby is not a great man. He doesn’t possess any traits of greatness: immunity to materialism, not committing sins, and the capability to acknowledge the past. Instead, wealth and power means everything to Gatsby. He has no misgivings about having an affair with a married woman, and he refuses to consent to the passing of time.
