It is unfortunate that as many heroes cannot be seen in today’s society as a couple of decades ago or hundreds of years ago. A possible reason might be that not as many social problems face us today. Heroism is almost contagious; people react positively when exposed to it. It gives people something to aspire to, and thus a reason to live.
