Bach was born the youngest child of Johann Ambrosias Bach and Maria Elisbetha, nee Lamerhirt. He was baptized two days after he was born. He was a helpful boy, and if he was very good, his father would give him a piano lesson.
When Bach was 7 he entered Latinschule in Eisenach, where Martin Luther had studied, and by the time he was 10 he could read the Gospel in Latin.

director of the boys’ choir. He wrote music for the choir, one cantata every two weeks. Other than that he didn’t get to do anything musical and get paid for it, but Bach loved to make music so much that he still composed and played the music as a pastime.
Even when Bach was getting older, he still loved to write music. He worked continuously and composed daily until he died in 1750 at age 65.
