Ada Byron, Lady Lovelace, was a creative and influential mathematician. Born on December 10, 1815 to the romantic poet, Lord Byron, she entered a life of prestige and wealth. Ironically, after this astounding mathematical contribution, Ada fell ill and she gambled her family into debt. She died on November 27, 1852 from cancer of the uterus. She was buried in London, next to the father she never knew.
