Introduction It is common knowledge amongst Americans that President Abraham Lincoln was assassinated. But what many people don’t know about is the conspiracy surrounding it. While I am not looking at whether or not Mary Surratt was guilty, I do believe that the proceedings of her arrest and through to her execution were wholly unconstitutional. And furthermore, I believe that had this trial occurred today, none of these proceedings would have been allowed to occur. I also believe that Mary would have been found innocent on lack of concrete evidence.
