Mayan Art

people ruled over the land. A lot is misunderstood about these early

on what I think art is, in my opinion, this statue is art. This
statue was created most likely for a religious reason, and was simply an
adornment for a building or public place. This statue was carved out of some
sort of stone, possibly a sedimentary stone (like sand-stone) from the
mountain areas in which it was created. The tools that carved it were
probably very simple, like smaller stones, and simple metal chisles.
