Yes they do. The slave owners display a lack of control and reason far below that of the rest of society. Their lack of control and reason caused them to fall short in the economy, interactions between slave owners and non-slave owners, and in dealing with each other. Slaves may not excel in those areas but they are not even given the chance. Southerners have the chance and still do not succeed in those areas.
