Napoleon Bonaparte
Napoleon was one of the greatest military commanders in history, even though; he has also been portrayed as a power hungry conqueror. Napoleon denied such accusations and argued that he was building a federation of free people in Europe united under a liberal government. There are not very many people in history that have captured the imagination of their generation and of historians. Possibly, the most compelling of these figures is Napoleon Bonaparte.

Napoleon was a tyrant but he believed in ruling by consent from the people. He was a great leader who was able to change French institutions and tried to reform the institutions of Europe and give the Continent a common law. “Bonaparte was a military genius, who will always be remembered as one of the best generals ever, it is justified to call him Napoleon the Great” (Connelly).
