The problem with sleeping is that everyone does it. It's the one habit that no one can give up because it is essential to survival. In most cases of therapy the therapist helps the victim to over come the nightmare by writing or imagining their own ending to the dream, or to basically rewriting their dream to where it would not affect them mentally or emotionally.
