There may not have been a Civil War if the Northern colonies
had the same agriculture as the South . Even the Revolution may not have
taken place if this was true. It took a long time before the North convinced
the South to take part in the Revolution. Originally, some of the reasons
stated for why we were going to break off from England included items
against slavery. They had to be

Boston Massacre is just one example. Excessive taxation burdened the
colonists and angered them. It was also the North that objected more
strongly to the British rule with outburts like the Boston Tea Party.
Had farming been the Northern colonies’ main source of income things
would have been different. Like the South, they probably would not have
been as opposed to the English. We would most likely still be part of Britain
today.
