Who needs televised debates? Presidential candidate George W. Bush used to feel the American public didn’t need prime-time televised debates. However, suddenly he’s changed his mind and Presidential candidates Bush and Al Gore will be participating in three debates on college campuses in Boston, Winston-Salem, and St. Louis throughout October.

style” formats are extremely informative, but are sometimes extremely dull. From my experience, I’ve only been able to watch a few minutes of these debates in the past. This format appears to be geared towards experienced politicians and those who follow the election very carefully. The average voter may not be able to follow the technical terminology used by the candidates. A simple talk show format may be the answer to these problems.
