Johann Lovater once said, “the jealous are possessed by a mad devil and a numb spirit at the same time.” This is a very true statement. Jealousy will always have a negative effect on people, which can make them do things they normally wouldn’t do. It makes them make irrational decisions and not realize it until it is too late. In conclusion, what Johann Lovater said is definitely correct, as can be seen in both Othello and the poem “Jealousy”. Jealousy is an uncontrollable thing that causes people to do uncontrollable acts. Later on they regret the things they did, but then it is too late.
