Point Shaving: I think that it’s a tragedy to see that many collegiate athletes are involved in gambling situations. It’s hard on the athletes too, because they’re not getting paid to play the game so it’s hard to resist thousands of dollars to only win by a few, in cases on point shaving. Money makes the world go round, and the person who said that money is the root of all evil wasn’t that far off in saying that because that’s what it comes down to, money. Much to our dismay there will probably always be a way to make money off these athletes; building this wall may lead bookies to take another venture into illegal gambling.
