Suicide has long been a problem in the United States. Often, people become so overwhelmed by the circumstances of their own lives that they feel the need to escape. Sometimes, a person may choose to “escape” via suicide simply because he or she is unable to deal with the stress in his or her life. Everyone has stress. Nobody lives an idealistic, stress-free life. However, some professions place more demands on their workers than others.

there are just as many ways to deter someone from carrying out the plans they have formed. Police officers do a great deal of good for society. It is sad to see that the stressors of their job are so overwhelming that many of them feel that they can not handle being alive. Society must help police officers in any way it can so as to lessen the suicide epidemic among officers in the future.
