In the novel “Pride and Prejudice” by Jane Austen, the novel was written in the 19th century when marriage was very important and played an important role for every family. The parents of the Bennet girls wanted each of their five daughters to get married to some gentlemen that was wealthy and had a high social standing so that their daughters would have a better life than they did.

and Mr. Collins get married for all different reasons. One reason being just for love and the other being because they loved each other right from the beginning when they first met at the ball for the first time. This is to show that not everyone marries their spouses for love like Jane and Bingley did but also shows that some couples marry for just convenience and to be happy like Charlotte and Mr. Collins.
