The understanding of prejudice can lead to us removing of racism and discrimination in our country. Stereotyping, or forming a set of characteristics thought to be common to all members of a certain group, leads to prejudice influencing the observer to be part of a group rather than an individual. Someone cannot be exposed to multiculturalism and expect students to see each other as individual human beings. Someone cannot teach the need for self-esteem while destroying the staff that makes it possible.
