Guns are instruments of destruction. Although some people say that guns are for protection, for hunting, or even to scare off possible criminals, in reality their sole purpose is to maim or kill either an animal or worse a human being. Guns are most definitely not for everyone, because certain individuals can not handle a gun safely, and still others choose to inappropriately use firearms for criminal acts. the sale of fully automatic weapons. The Gun Control Act of 1968 made it a requirement for all gun dealers to have a federal license. This same act also banned the sale of guns through the mail and the sale of guns to all people who have formerly been convicted of violent felonies. It also prohibited dealers from selling handguns out of state, and out-of-state residents from buying handguns. These have not eliminated gun-related crime either.
