Gilgamesh, ruler of Uruk, treated his people cruelly. However, as a result of Gilgamesh being 2/3 god and 1/3 man, his power was unmatched on Earth. The gods created a creature, Enkidu, to match Gilgamesh’s strength and to counter his evil actions. When Enkidu came to Earth, he lived in the wild and was a part of nature, as well as a representation of the gods. Although life would have been better for Adam, Eve, and mankind if Eve had never bit from the apple, her action caused the world to be the way that it is. In this way the story of Adam and Eve, and Gilgamesh parallel each other.
