Sitting Bull was A Hunkpappa Lakota Chief and holy man under whom the Lakota tribe united on the Dakota plains. Sitting Bull fought the American Army. He didn’t believe the American promises. He was born in 1831 on the Grand River in what is now South Dakota at a Lakota place called Many Caches. Many Caches is where there were many food storage pits. let him be in the dance. They sent soldiers to arrest him and keep him from being in the dance. A fight broke out and one of the police put a bullet through Sitting Bulls head. He was buried at Ft Yates in North Dakota and in 1953 his remains were moved to Mobridge, South Dakota where there is a monument to mark his grave. He is remembered as a leader, warrior and loving father.
