On figure one of the blind spot experiment, when the black dot fell into my blind spot, it was replaced by white space. The reason behind this I believe is because my eyes are receiving overwhelming evidence that whatever is in my blind spot is probably white space because the surrounding area is all white. However, in a case such as figure two, something entirely different occurred. The difference was that, when the black dot

our visual perception is not based on memory, but on solid biological stimulus. If we already know that a black dot exists on paper where our blind spot is, then why don’t we see a black spot even when it is in our blind spot? The answer I believe is because our visual perception and our memory are separate from each other, and memory plays no role in what we currently perceive.
