„h A strain is a stretched or torn muscle or tendon attachment. Strained joints can function, but only with pain. The body parts that are involved are muscles, tendons and any ligament attached to any joint. Ligaments are the fibrous, elastic connective bands that attach bone to bone (tendons connect muscle to bone). There is no one sex that can get this both can. Any age can too. Signs and symptoms are pain or tenderness

first 24 hours. It may increase bleeding and swelling and prolong healing time. Compression with an elastic (Ace) bandage. Whenever possible, elevate the joint (especially while sleeping) so fluid can drain and diminish swelling. Learn how to use crutches, if needed. To help the pain you may use a non-prescribed pain reliever such as an ibuprofen. With the appropriate treatment and rest, a few weeks for recovery. May take longer depending on severity of the injury.
