and Carrie Chapman Catt. She passed away in Rochester, New York on March 13, 1906. She died at home with her close friend, Anna Shaw at her side. After Susan B. Anthony’s death women were given the right to vote in a few western states and in the nations of New Zealand and Australia. It wasn’t till 1919 when the United States passed the 19th Amendment called the "Susan B. Anthony Amendment"—allowed women to vote.
