the town they got to know the town a lot better. What I believe Harper Lee is trying to suggest is that if our children are able to think that prejudice is wrong and are able to grow with their own beliefs without their parents imposing their opinions on them, then America has a chance of becoming something better than what it is. Free of hatred towards race and gender and class.
