strict and many of the people were more self-satisfied in saving themselves rather than others. They didn't have a system in which you could prove yourself innocent so many unjust accusations were made at innocent people. This novel is very deep and is taken at many levels. Forgiveness is a response to injustice, a turning to the "good" in the face of wrongdoing, and the moral love or contributing to the betterment of the other.
