In addition, the totality of the action takes place in a tight span of time; less than six months pass in the course of the drama which makes the whole play in my opinion easy to follow and understand, whether viewed on stage or read. I also think that Miller perfectly demonstrates the great influence of Senator McCarthy and Communist groups during that time and how people where scared in 1953 by it.
