The Movie, The Patriot, starts out with most of the colonists angered. This part of the movie caught my attention at the very beginning and kept it throughout the entire movie. I enjoyed especially the action and war scenes in the movie, but the storyline was very good as well. To understand this historical fiction movie, a historic background is needed. It taught me some of the “rules of war.” Also it showed the effigies of the tax collectors being hung during the arguments over “taxation without representation.” Finally, in many families there were differences in opinion, which often resulted in fathers and sons fighting on different sides of the battlefield. While watching this movie many historical facts and stories went through my head.
