I sense that she rejoices at imagining the discomfort of her intended audience as she boasts of her freedom from their lies and ill intentions. I rejoice just the same. She actually leaves no illusions about the meaning of her words or her inspiration and this is clearly evident. The significance of this piece of work is a tribute to all who’ve struggled as Black people and for this reason, I rise as well.
