The hierchy of the church

The Hierarchy of the church can loosely described in a pyramid fashion. At the top is the Pope who is considered the closet man to God's will. At the bottom of the pyramid is the congregation. People who are lower on the pyramid are meant to be servants and obey those above. Conversely, the hierarchy is meant to serve the religious congregation that makes up the lowest level.
