Humans have always felt the need to differentiate themselves from one another. We see examples of this in history, geography, language, and even mathematics. Even less complex is the notion of race. …showed last 75 words of 2237 total…anymore? Will playwrights stop preferring particular races for particular roles they write about? As our society pressures us to change to a “colorblind” society our literature, plays, and films must change with it. I can only speculate on how race may be expressed in writing in the future, but I believe it will simply come to not acknowledging the differences between races of characters; instead focusing on the human race as one and defining race.
