In the late 1920s and 1930s, the people living in the United States suffered through its greatest depression ever. President Roosevelt’s solution to end the Great Depression was what became known as the New Deal. Although it improved the situation and helped the United States get back on its feet; it was a conservative plan for a radical problem.

but it should have been a revolutionary break from old ways. The reform movement helped middle class whites the most, but basically it didn’t help anyone else. Although much relief was given, its main goal was to put everyone back to work. This did not happened. There were still millions of people that were still unemployed. The Great Depression wasn’t fully over until the United States got ready for World War II.
