In this essay I am comparing three poems that are about love; “Love is…”
by Adrian Henri and ‘A Blade of Grass’ by Brian Patten and ‘Sonnet’ by Elizabeth
Barrett Browning. ‘Love Is…’ is about the things that people do in a relationship
but in ‘A Blade of Grass’ I think the person who received the grass is not happy
with the relationship and wants something to show or prove their love but the
poet –

love thee with a love I seem to lose’,
This could mean that she has lost lots of things that she loved, and with all
the love she had given to these things she now loves the person with all that
love.
Overall I think that Adrian Henri has the best idea about love because I
think a blade of grass is going too far by saying it’s the thought that counts
