and will soon be fired from the ranch, Crooks has developed an aversion for white people (the only people that are around), and Curley's wife is always isolated to her house and talking to only Curley. Perhaps if these three had people to talk to, the tragic events of the end of the novel would not have occurred. It seems that many of the world's problems could be solved if loneliness was not a factor.
