Beowulf vs. The 13th Warrior
I read the story of Beowulf and then watched the movie The 13th Warrior. Both of these works are from around the same time period. With that, I discovered many similarities and differences between the two.
After watching The 13th Warrior, I realized that there were many similarities to the story of Beowulf. To start off in the movie, poetry was a respected art just like warfare. This was also

were no longer where in Beowulf, it was the opposite. The last difference I found was in the "monsters." For one, these "monsters" lived in caves, and two, they weren't monsters at all, they were just a clan of crazed humans.
After reading Beowulf and watching The 13th Warrior, I have bettered myself in understanding what life was like in that time period. At the same time, I discovered both works many similarities and differences.
