A play where two opposing forces are very much explained is the 'bold girls' by Rona Munro. in this play Munro looks at the harsh way the characters create an illusionary world because the harsh realities of life are too difficult for them to bar. Each character has something in their lives, which they are frightened of and so find ways to avoid confronting their fears.

seen through the fact that because she was delayed by the military. She thought he would not wait on her. She felt she was the luckiest woman alive when she realised he was still at the church when she arrived.
In describing this scene there is real irony in the fact that it was a miserable, wet day and that mood created by this scene, was in actually indicative of the rest of her life.
