Does capital punishment affect the spirit of the people? No, I feel it does not affect the people. At least not in a bad way. Indeed it is sad to think of someone being executed, but we must remember why they are in that position in the first place. If anything, I think the people would begin to feel a little safer. But lets be honest, people will never feel completely safe. But

than long term or permanent incarceration. It is self evident that dead criminals can not commit any further crimes. It is also a way to keep government spending down. Why should my tax dollars pay to keep the criminal alive in prison for the rest of his life? To me that is wrong and a waste of money. I am a firm supporter in capital punishment and hope that someday it will be widely accepted.
